Britain’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson refused to comment on the damaging claims made by his grandson Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan, on Monday, praising Queen Elizabeth’s contribution and discussing a drama based on the royal family Given.
At a news conference in London, Mr. Johnson said, “I have always received the highest praise for the Queen and the role she plays in our country and in the Commonwealth.”
“As for all other matters to do with the royal family, I have spent a long time no longer commenting on the affairs of the royal family and it is not my intention from today,” Mr. Johnson said.
Pressed to say whether he believed the royal family to be separate from the Queen is racist, Mr. Johnson again stoned, stating that “when it comes to dealing with royal families, it is right for the Prime Ministers.” The matter is nothing, and nothing that I propose to say today about that particular case.
Earlier on Monday, Minister for Children Vicky Ford also declined to comment on the content of the interview, but said in an interview with LBC Radio: “There is no place for racism in our society.”
But at least one member of Mr. Johnson’s Conservative government spoke out against Meghan and Harry. “Harry is blowing up his family,” is Zac Goldsmith, a middle-level minister for the environment and foreign affairs. Wrote on twitter. “Meghan gets what Meghan wants.”
Issues raised are sensitive to Mr Johnson, who, during his career as a journalist, used racist language on a few occasions, and the claims made in the interview revolved around British politics.
On Monday, opposition Labor Party leader Keir Starr said the allegations that appeared in the interview “need to be taken very seriously”, as they are “allegations regarding race and mental health.”
He said, “For many years we have been very much sacked and are willing to put these issues aside. ”
Labor Party MLA Nadia Whitome was a direct critic of the monarchy. “When Meghan Markle was charged with bullying, Buckingham Palace immediately announced an investigation,” she wrote Twitter. “Now that Meghan has commented about her child’s skin color, will they investigate the racism at the Palace?” I will not be able to hold my breath. “
