More infectious coronavirus variants found in Colorado

The case of the more infectious coronavirus virus, first detected in Britain, was found in Colorado on Tuesday. This is the first confirmed case of a variant in the United States.

Mr. Polis stated that in this edition no person with any travel history was revealed in his 20s history. He said he was isolated in Elbert County, southeast of Denver.

“There is a lot we do not know about this new Kovid-19 version, but scientists in the United Kingdom are warning the world that it is significantly more contagious,” Mr. Polis said in a statement. “The health and safety of coloradans is our top priority and we will monitor this matter closely, as well as all Kovid-19 indicators, very closely.”

Scientists are concerned about these variants, but are not surprised by them. Mutations of the virus are common, and most mutations of the coronavirus have been shown to be minor.

“It shouldn’t be a cause of panic,” said William Hainz, an epidemiologist at Harvard University. “But this is the reason for our efforts to stop the virus from getting an opportunity to spread.”

Earlier this month, British researchers noticed that this version was becoming more prevalent in parts of Britain. His later investigations suggest that variants – known as B.1.1.7 – spread more easily than others in circulation.

It is not yet clear why B.1.1.7 is transmitted more easily. The genealogy underwent 23 changes as it diverged from other coronaviruses. Researchers are investigating some mutations whether they allow the virus to more easily invade cells or make more copies of itself.

There is no evidence that an infection with B.1.1.7 causes a severe case of Kovid-19 or increases the risk of death. But the speed with which the variant spreads can lead to more infections – and therefore more hospitalizations.

The British Government has responded to the emergence of B.1.1.7 by imposing stringent restrictions on the size of people’s activities and gatherings. In a preliminary study, British researchers found that schools may need to be closed and aggressively intensified vaccination programs to prevent a huge increase in cases.

Countries around the world have implemented strict protocols for travelers entering from the United Kingdom. a New rule in the united states Passengers from the UK, compulsorily American citizens – showed evidence of a negative coronovirus test on entry, effective Monday.

It is not clear where B.1.1.7 originated. The United Kingdom has the largest system for sequencing coronavirus genomes, which is why the variant was first found there. Variant cases have been identified in France, Spain and other European countries as well as in Lebanon and Singapore. Medic in Ontario, Canada said On Saturday, they identified two cases of a couple with no travel history or risk.

Because the United States performs far fewer genome sequences than the UK, American scientists suspected that the variant may already be undetermined in the country. It appears that they were right.

The fact that the Colorado man identified on Tuesday had no travel history is a worrying possibility given that B.1.1.7 is already well established in his community – and probably elsewhere. “It was not across the Atlantic,” Dr. Hange said.
